I am so excited to be doing my first review today! I have partnered up with Aftershokz for running safety month this month! The Aftershokz Trekz Titanium Bone Conduction Headphones are one of my new favorite running buddies!!

First Impression

The first time I put them on and started up my Pandora was a unique sensation. It felt really strange to me to be hearing my music fairly loudly and not feel anything in my ear like you normally would with headphones in.

First Impression While Running

Wind noise/bouncing noise

One of the things I absolutely hate about my in ear wireless headphones that I had before my Afershokz Trekz Titaniums was the noise from the wind blowing past the headphones when running. The second thing that I hate almost as much with in ear headphones is the noise from the cord hitting me when you run. You know the noise I’m talking about. Now if you have just regular earbuds you don’t get this (you do get the wind noise) but you have to have the in ear headphones to get the noise from things touching the cords. Yupe. DRIVES. ME. BONKERS. Completely and totally don’t get either of these with the Aftershokz. Which is a relief. It lets me experience my music in a much happier way.

I loved the way these stayed nice and snug during my run. They didn’t bounce around or move at all! For my first run out with these I had on my Aftershokz, my Tifosi Optics sunglasses, and a visor. Lots of stuff on this ol’ head and nothing moved!

I got the Trekz Titanium Mini in pink. They have this nifty little ruler on their site so you can pick the right size for you. My husband has them in the standard size and loves his as well!

Sound Quality

It takes some getting used to at first the way that you hear the music. It sounds like you are listening to a radio and not headphones due to the sound not going directly into your ear through the earbud. After wearing them around the house though I was used to it and loved them.

This is the main reason I looked into these headphones. June is Run Safety month and something that causes a lot of problems for runners is not being able to hear your surroundings. I love that about these. I am able to listen to my music and hear cars approaching as well as cyclists and other ambient noises around me. Being able to hear your surroundings when you run makes you so much more aware and able to keep yourself safe!
